Hello, my name is Ellie. I am a forty year old widow. My partner took care of our financial life while I took care of the 'wifely duties' at home. He was a welder. We were in love and had a good life together. But that all ended when he his life ended in a light rail train accident. It has been over a year since this has happened, and now I have to stand up on my own and rebuild my life. I plan on getting a part time job as a coffee barista to start, and I would like to get a new pair of slacks; a blouse and sensible shoes as well as my hair trimmed for my job interview. I have not much education, so I would like to go to college for a program which will allow me to begin a good career for myself in the health care field and the tuition is ten thousand dollars and that is not including the textbooks/laptop ect. I can begin taking the course if I pay for a third of the tuition. I would also like to repay a couple of our friends for helping me with the rent for a few months. I feel so helpless that the bills just pile up, but I am so sure that things will get better now that it has gotten this bad, how would it get any worse? ReplyDeleteI've never done this sort of thing before but at a point in my life where I am trapped. A little less than a year ago I ran away from an abusive relationship. I have a four year old little girl who is amazingly smart for her age and I couldn't bear having her grow up in a abusive household. I went into a survival mode and leave everything I worked so hard for so I could provide my daughter with a better life. I left California and moved back home to Hawaii with my family with one bag packed with only my daughters clothing. After not working for six years because my abusive ex wouldn't allow me to I regained my indepence and got a good job. Just when I thought things were starting to look up for us it quickly changed over a month ago my place of employment got robbed and I've been put on blame for the incident. Ive been on suspension for over a month now and its taking a toll. I'm going through unreal emotions because I'm being falsely accused of a serious crime that I did not commit. I don't come from a family with money. My mom and step dad have worked all of their lives to provide for us. And as much as they want to help they honestly don't have the funds to. I'm struggling in every way possible in the inside and I'm trying my hardest to not show my little girl the struggle. She has never had a real Christmas because her dad was very controlling of everything including all the money and activities we do. He is a alcoholic and ruined every Christmas we had together. Every Christmas my daughter and I pretty much spent the holiday alone sitting in a random parking lot with no where to go.luckily I am strong and would try to make the best of what we had. I really need help this year I thought I would have been able to show my daughter what Christmas is all about the right way on my own but due to the harassment going on at my job I don't even know if I can provide gifts for her. I have epilepsy, my lovely husband and boys have helped me so much and we vowed to turn the world around to make it work for us. We bought a woodland with a beautiful little cabin (it was very cheap, long story), a stream and lake and we made a log burning hot tub, converted a horse box into a sauna - all the things I dreamt of while being debilitated by this horrible disease.
ReplyDeleteWe are totally self sufficient and I learned guitar to teach my kids. We developed the most amazing family culture and made such wonderful memories. I'm 35 now, my kids are almost grown but they will never leave The Wilderness they say. Only problem is that we are £10k in debt from rent payed on credit cards before we made the leap and moved here. We could lose all this. It's our love. We never gave up and we were never greedy. We rescue animals here, share as rehab for vulnerable people and my kids have thrived. We love the Wilderness but we have to find a way out of debt. I need to work with my epilepsy and my husband and kids need to have this extra weight off their shoulders. We are all grafters and although I can't leave here I am so willing to pay back remotely.
