Officer Lawrence DePrimo Squatted Down To Help Homeless Put on New Socks and Boots He Bought for Him

A random act of kindness has brought fame and popularity to a New York City Police officer. When officer Lawrence DePrimo of Long Island, N.Y, ran into a barefoot homeless man sitting on the sidewalk (42nd street) as the world passes by, he knew he had to do something. He had to give this poor man a fighting chance as the cold season is already hitting New York. He realized that he could buy a nice pair of boots and socks for him. They were not any shoes. They are all-weather ones. A tourist from Arizona who witnessed this heartwarming story being taken place right in front of her decided to post the pictures online. The officer reached down to the homeless man and helped him put the boots on. Now that's what a true police officer is all about.
Are we not all proud of Officer DePrimo? Each one of us sees us in him! There are many other homeless and people in need everywhere we look! Reach out to give them some blessings!

DePrimo went into Sketchers and bought a pair of size 12 boots and socks for the stranger. The homeless man told DePrimo that he had never had a pair of shoes before. "Let's take care of you now," said Officer DePrimo who squatted down to put the socks and shoes on the homeless man.

What are you willing to do for somebody today?

This story should remind us that we can still have faith in others.

Car Repo and Mounting Financial Problems: Mother of Stranded Daughter Needs Your Help Now

Here is a story that will cause you to show your generosity. Do something for this mother and her family! Read her story below: "

Disabled, Please Help! I have been on Social Security Disability for two years and have been desperately trying to stay afloat, but I am going down for the count. I can't pay the rent this month, I have title loans due on both mine and my daughters cars with repo orders out on both. One car is in the shop with a 1493.00 repair bill that has to be paid before I can get it only to face having it reposessed.

I don't have prescription insurance so I can't afford my insulin which leads to lots of other problems. My disability payments disqualify me from Medicaid, but are not enough to pay for rent and meds, much less anything else. I am trying to start my own business so I can work from home despite my disabilities. It has been a really rough year.

I know lots of people have monetary problems right now and I would love to be on the giving end of this request someday soon. I need to raise $20,000 to get my head above water. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your consideration.

Help This Mother of 4 Provide for Her Family:

Here is a new heartbreaking story of needs after a divorce. This person has issues with late rent or mortgage, difficulty to purchase groceries and pay the bills. This is a pressing matter for us when kids are involved and when a divorced mother or any parent feels overwhelmed!

Please find a way to help this mother of 4 who is going through some hard economic times.

Here is her story now:

"Hello, I am in a desperate situation and not sure what else to do. I am recently divorced after 17 years in a relationship. I have 2 nieces and a nephew, who I have been caring for the past year. I am bankrupt and currently work a job that I took a deep pay cut for, because I so desperately need it. I have never been one to ask for help or take something that I didn't earn, I believe in hard work for what you want. But lately, with the so many life changing events that have taken place in my life, I feel lost. My ex-husband left me financially ruined, he took most of our furniture in the house out of spite and has left me and the kids without much to use. I can't get credit anywhere, I can't get a loan from the bank. I don't know what else to do. I am currently behind in my rent ($2,350) and will be facing eviction soon, my car note is 2 months behind ($824),I can't afford to get furniture for our home, I can barely afford groceries for our family of 4. I have not been able to catch up with things because paying my bankruptcy and legal feels, divorce fees took a toll on me financially and I have continuously been getting further behind in bills. I know you get thousands of requests per day and I don't want to give you a sob story, but I am at my wits end in keeping things together in my life. I have been applying for second jobs, but no one has called me. I am so behind on so many things, but the most important for me are keeping a roof over our head and being able to get back and forth to work and take the kids to school. I can't sleep because of my worries and maybe just telling someone my thoughts will help ease the burden off my mind. I humbly ask that you consider my request. I know that no one else is responsible for my life and I truly appreciate anything you could do for me. It would greatly help me in getting back on track and on top of things financially. Thank you for your time and help."

Kimmy's Heartbreaking Story of Cancer, Losses, Radiation and Treatment: Please Help Kimmy Any Way You Can

Here's her story:

"My husband drives truck and is a volunteer Sr Captain at the local fire station over 13 years now. I was a Realtor for the same amount of time until I became sick in 2008 with Kidney Cancer. I lost my kidney, gallbladder and bladder cuff. Then in 2009 I was again diagnosed with cancer but this time cervical cancer. I had 28 radiation treatments, 6 chemo and 4 days of Brachytherapy. I was also diagnosed with Lynch Syndrome. A Genetic mutation of my DNA causing rapidly growing tumors. I underwent a radical hysterectomy. Then in 2010 I had a benign egg size tumor removed from behind my throat. 2011 I started having trouble going to the bathroom. I have so much pain. I vomit and can't eat. I am 108 pounds. I have 8 inches of my colon damaged from the radiation. Now I am in need of a permanent colostomy. I haven't been able to work since 2008. We just keep getting deeper in debt with all my medical bills. My teeth are also rotting out from the chemo and I will need all new teeth. My husband needs a knee replacement. I was late on my mortgage and taxes one time and they raised my interest rate and my payment up $450 month. My husband can't make all these bills. I owe over $65,000 to the credit bureau. I have another major surgery in September. Then the cost of colostomy supplies the rest of my life. I am a sucker for animals and I have adopted 9 strays from the street. I can't lose my home. We would appreciate any help. Thank you so much!

Brenda Hits Hard Times, Needs Your Assistance

Here's Brenda's story: "Life sure does suck right now. Actually it has for a few years now. My husband and I had marital troubles, he had a heart attack, we lost the house, and split up. We have been trying to work things out but living in two different places right now is tough. I have been living with a married couple who are friends but I know they need their space back and they have been throwing hints for awhile now. I am unemployed and can't find a job. For two years I was always saying "Things can't get any worse." I quit saying it. I have always tried to make it on what I had but I need help. Please, anybody that reads this could you please help. Even 5 or 10 dollars would help. I just want to get back on my feet. Anybody that has been in my position knows how degrading this is to ask for help from people you don't even know but I am about to give up on everything. I really would appreciate any help at all. Help Mary B. Help Her Daughter With Sturge Webber Syndrome; Help her solve her financial problems

Here's Mary's story: "My family and I need real help, please take the time to read this all the way through. I have tried to think about fundraisers but it costs money and that is something we don't have. Our daughter has sturge webber syndrome, she has seizures and slow development problems. I have to stay home with her. My boyfriend was working and things were ok but now he has been laid off. I have to homeschool our daughter and do so through k12.com,but I can't pay the internet/phonebill so it will be just like any school and be like truancey because i can not continue her education. We could not pay the rent at the first of this month with her disability because we paid a couple of our truck payments and had to put gas in the truck for him to look for work. He has been looking on craigslist and everywhere there are people working he has stopped and asked if they need help. He was installing medical equiptment in hospitals. I f anyone could donate anything to my cause it would be helpful. If you do not want to give cash I would give you the info to pay the bills directly so that you would know that is what it is going for. Our little one would not understand why she couldn't do school anymore and it would cause her to be so upset she would go into seizures and then she would not understand being homeless, she has no concept of paying rent. if anyone knows of any jobs open anywhere doing anything. We need at least two truck payments made so that we can continue to take her to her dr. appt.

Our oldest daughter just got a part time job for the first time but she will loose it if we loose our vehicle and can not get her there she hasn't even gotten her first paycheck. We are trying very hard and have already sold everything of value to keep gas and can't sell our computer because we rent it from rent a center and not even sure if we are going to be able to keep it. we have to to have it for her schooling and for him to try to find work. We were doing just great and now our world is crashing down on us. Please if anyone reading this can help or wants to help or knows any charities that are real and help please let me know. You can look that up,what she has is a real disease and this is not a joke. Or you can go to www.giveforward.com/donatetomychild,we need a little help just to give him time to find a new job and be back on our own.

Any help would be appreciated even $20 for gas,gas is important to get to interviews and such. This is not a joke or a scam,If you want to help send me an e-mail and I will send my number so you can call, didn't put my number on here for obvious reasons. We are truly in need, even just a little bit of help would be great. Never asked anyone for help, like this or any other way,we have no one to turn to in our time of need,I have helped people before and have hope there there are still good people in the world, please someone take a chance and help us. We do not know what else to do. Please if you can help,or know of any jobs,he has already put in apps at all the resturants around here,he can do any kind of construction and is willing to work hard,he always has. We have to try to keep the vehicle and find a way to pay some rent. Our children would not understand being homeless and it is hard to find a job and keep one without a vehicle. We have always been ok before but we can not get a loan without a job so we are out of options. We need any kind of kind of help we can get. One lady has been nice enough to get my daughter some presents for her birthday and we are very grateful, she is very nice to do that for my little one.

Anyone who can make donations,or even just wants to pay a bill that would be great, that is all we want to do is pay our bills and give him time to get working so we don't lose our home, have to move with no money and nowhere to go. Maybe someone could just loan us $500,we could set up a weekly payback rate as soon as he gets a job,but without gas and vehicle payments, and light bill paid there will be NO CHANCE at finding work, would be happy to pay back any money loaned to us,you would know how to contact us and where we are. Please someone take a chance, for my kids. Thanks for reading."

Kathy Needs Your Financial Assistance

I was once a kind, determined and capable, full of confidence, poise and unshakable moral. I can't find work. In the past I volunteered, I helped many, I was there for my neighbors and friends. Who now are non existent. My financial situation has become a ball and chain is a constant reminder of a 60 year old woman defeated by circumstance. I have become a recluse with one constant, 24 hr a day question running through my head: where can I get my next dollar. To buy food, take care of my pets, pay the water bill, electric, car insurance, gas for the car and phone bills paid. To top of it all now my car needs a battery. I want nothing more than to, once again become a valuable part of society, to not feel like such a failure, and to one day mean something to to myself. Please believe me when I say that I am putting blood sweat and tears into making that happen. I'm begging, will you please, help me regain with a fresh start? Any donation is appreciated Kathy

43-year-old Female Wants Your Help To Survive and Get out of Debts, Won't you Help Her?

Here is a heartfelt story of needs: "I am a 43 year old female. I have no children and I am not married. My story is not that of someone that most people would be sympathetic to, but I would like to be as honest as possible. I lost my job in Dec 2011. When I was 23, I graduated from medicine school, got involved with someone for 5 years then he left leaving me with nothing, taking all that I earned too. I got my first loan, mortgage and credit card which was my first mistake. I borrowed to pay for my mortgage and ended up having difficulty paying all my bills. Over the years, I I worked none stop but not earning enough to cover my daily expenses even with my degrees and experience – I found myself taking out new accounts and racking up the bills. I moved to Italy thinking a new start would be good, lived there for ten years but still could not earn enough to pay off my debts let alone live comfortably. Again, this is my fault, getting mixed up with people who took advantage of my generosity as I always helped others even if it left me with nothing, I was left yet again with no money to support myself. My father passed away when I was 23 and my mother 10 years later, I am an only child. I decided to return to England, but getting a job here is even more difficult than in Italy. No one wants to employ you if you are over 35yrs, I’ve been struggling for the last two years, sometimes going without food for days living on tea and water. I have sold just about everything I own. I was hoping to make a dent in the bills I had mounting, which had gotten out of hand. I was falling behind and couldn’t make all the payments. Selling off all the stuff I bought seemed like a good start, but the bills keep coming. I am asking for some help with these bills and rent so I can get my head above water. I need to find a new flat as the flat I’m living is extremely noisy, I have not slept in months since the new neighbours moved in last June. I have not taken out any more loans and cancelled all my credit cards, I’m in so much debt that I will be evicted from my flat if I don’t come up with the rent by next week. I haven’t paid my bills either and soon they will cut me off too I don’t pay them. I am actively looking for work but due to my age it’s proving very difficult even though I am highly experienced in my field. I would humbly accept any help that someone is willing to offer me. I really want to live debt free for the first time since I left my parents home. I made a promise to myself that enough was enough, no more borrowing and if I got enough money to get me out of my black hole, I would help someone else who needs help just like me. I just need help to get back on my feet, get a new flat and pay off my debts and I promised myself never to get into this situation ever again." My paypal donation button link:

Needy Family Needs Your Help Now

Please help this family make ends meet. Here is their paypal email address where you can send donations: Paypal email @ needyfamily609@gmail.com Here is the post: "To Whom It May Concern: My name is Jean and I am a mother of three. I am married to William, for 4 years and we are NJ natives. I am a caregiver for my 60 year old mother who was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Failure in January of 2011. In June of 2010 my mother came from Michigan to live with me with the intention of helping me and my husband by watching our children during our working hours. My husband and I both work very long hours, and the children would have been required to spend long periods of time alone. So my mother came to help us fill the gap. In October of 2010, my mother’s health took a turn for the worse and it was continually getting worse as the year progressed. By January of 2011 my mother was unable to stand for any length of time and was always short of breath. On February 10th I admitted my mother to the emergency room @ ACMC/Mainland. She was immediately diagnosed with kidney failure. She was admitted to ICU and on February 12th she had a cardiac arrest, due to toxic levels of magnesium, in her system. My mother suffered a sustained brain injury and to this day has a deficit she will have to live with forever. This deficit has taken away her ability to drive, live on her own, or be without some type of supervision. My family suffered an extreme financial crisis that is ongoing and increasingly more devastating. I was out of work on FMLA for 8 weeks without pay. I was given $1200 in disability payments. I was allowed back to work, but with a significant decrease in pay and a change of position. We have fallen behind in our bills in a catastrophic way. It seems the more we pay the more we owe. In fact, for the last week we have been without running water. Our gas has been off for three weeks and we use that for hot water, heat, and cooking. Our bank fees for the month of September have been astronomical (well over $400) for NSF charges and Service fees. This is just spiraling out of control. The children attend a local charter school and Pleasantville High school. Each child only has one pair of shoes and one uniform because I can’t get ahead of the curve to get them additional ones. The little ones need their school logo embroidered on the uniforms but that cost more than the shirt did. We feel helpless and without some type of help we will continue to be a homeless family of six. We are currently living in a motel on the edge of our town. This is a pay by the hour type of place but it is the only place that will charge us by the week and will allow one of use to sleep on the floor. We are soliciting any type of help you can give. Please be mindful that we are hard working members of society. We have been working since we got out of high school. We are not beggars and we are willing to give back in the form of community service. All I know is that we need help! Immediately or we’ll be past saving! Thank you, Jean Elam Atlantic Auto Group, 08234 Paypal email @ needyfamily609@gmail.com"

Sending Money To Loved Ones Should Be Safer: Sending International Money Transfers or Remittances

The new rules that are set to start in one year have been in the pipeline for a long time. Consumers who have relatives overseas needed some type of protection when dealing with all these international money transfers. Soon these companies will be subjected to the scrutiny of the federal consumer regulations. At least, somebody will be paying attention the practices of these money transfers. Everyone hopes that the sad stories of lost or vanished funds will stop. The hope is that hidden fees will be stopped for good.

Here is a brief summary of what's being reported in the news media thus far about the topic:

Customers who send international money transfers will soon be entitled to clearer cost disclosures.
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau on Friday issued new rules governing remittances, which are often used by immigrants to send money to family back home.

The rules also require companies to disclose any fees, the exchange rate and the amount that will ultimately be paid out to the recipient in local currency. Companies will also be required to investigate disputes and to give customers at least 30 minutes to cancel a transaction.

The rules take effect after one year.

The CFPB, which was created as part of the nation's overhaul of financial regulations, was required by law to issue the rules on remittances by Jan. 21. International money transfers previously had not been subject to federal consumer regulations.

Frustrations with the industry include complaints about hidden costs, missing funds or funds that never arrive at all, according to Ruth Susswein, a spokeswoman for Consumer Action, an advocacy group. She said customers can also face difficulty getting companies to resolve such problems.

The CFPB noted that consumers transfer tens of billions of dollars from the U.S. to foreign countries each year. Richard Cordray, who was appointed as the agency's first director this month, noted that the new rules will help consumers compare prices and hold companies accountable for any errors.

"People sending money to their loved ones in another country should not have to worry about hidden fees," Cordray said.

A Western Union Co. spokesman, Tom Fitzgerald, said the company plans to be compliant with the rules by the effective date. He said the company already provides customers with disclosures on fees, exchange rates and payouts.

"We agree that consumers will benefit if all remittance providers are held to the same requirements," he said.

MoneyGram International Inc. also said in a statement that it gives customers information about fees and rates and responds to complaints in a timely manner. The company said it is reviewing the rules to see if any adjustments will be needed.

--------

The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform Act as presented by ConsumerFinance.gov/regulations.....

"The rules require companies to give a disclosure to a consumer before the consumer pays for a remittance transfer. The disclosure must list:
The exchange rate,
Fees, and
The amount of money to be delivered.
Companies must also provide a receipt or proof of payment that repeats the information in the first disclosure. The receipt must also tell consumers the date when the money will arrive.
Companies must provide the disclosures in English. Sometimes companies must also provide the disclosures in other languages.
Other protections
The rules also require that:
Consumers get 30 minutes (and sometimes more) to cancel a transfer. Consumers can get their money back if they cancel.
Companies must investigate if a consumer reports a problem with a transfer. For certain errors, consumers can get a refund or transfer without charge the money that did not arrive as promised.
Companies that provide remittance transfers are responsible for mistakes made by certain people who work for them.
Coverage
The rules apply to remittance transfers if they are:
More than $15,
Made by a consumer in the United States, and
Sent to a person or company in a foreign country.
This includes many types of transfers, including wire transfers.
The rules apply to most companies that offer remittance transfers, including:
Banks,
Thrifts,
Credit unions, and
Money transmitters."

50-year-old Mother with Bright Daughter Would Like to Pay Rent, Needs Your Help and Has Paypal Account

Please find a way to contribute something to this mother find solutions to her financial situation. She needs help with her rent.

"I am a 50 year old single mom with a ... year old daughter that just started high school, I work full-time and have been at my job for over 9 years.I have been financially struggling the past several months, no child support. My daughter is very bright, she's in the band, ROTC, Drama,Debate Team, and taking all honor classes...I am so proud of her and she deserves more and I don't have it to give to her because I am so behind on my bills by pushing things forward because of car problems and making sure that she has what she NEEDS first, most of the time I get food from my brother or go to the grocery store and know I don't have it but we have to eat.I have not finish paying band fees (still owe $285),rent behind, utilities late (paying half each time I get paid, $200), the only way that I can have a few dollars is pushing something forward....well I can't push anymore....just praying that it will get better. I have been in a very, very, depressed mood, living off overdraft and feel like I'm working for nothing. I don't want to go anywhere but to work and run my daughter back and forth to practice. If I could get help paying my rent which is $550 it will help me a whole. I get paid twice a month and sometimes once, If I could get the rent caught up I could get all my other bills back on schedule as my pay periods fall.I also have issues at work which does not make dealing with things any easier. If I could catch my rent up it will clear my mind tremendously and I can focus more on my daughter mentally instead of how am i going to pay this or that. The most important thing is I have noticed how distant I have been with her and she needs me mentally and physically, I want to be able to smile and joke around with here again instead of taking everything so personal...in which later i apologize to her and it is okay. I would like to thank you in advance and would appreciate whatever help we can get! Once I get back on my feet I would love to help someone else out....I really feel the pain.

Many come without Identification, means to claim money from family or friends or basic needs like, clothing shelter or even food. We help them get to the right places to get each of these necessities. We help find temporary jobs to earn bus fares and transportation monies. We do not provide legal immigration help but we can help the person(s) to find good sources. We need the donations to help with many of these services. We are always looking for people willing to transport the donations for free too Food, Money, Clothing, household items, transportation and or legal help! We can use it all. We need Blankets and Pillows . We also could use Scrap material and accessories to make our own. Any used sewing equipment is very much needed to repair used clothing and blankets.
